Researchers at Berkeley Lab have joined forces with CopperTree
Analytics and other partners from the smart building industry
to address the biggest opportunity to enhance FDD technology
– extending the software to empower users to not only identify
faults, but also take action to easily implement corrections and
control improvements in a more automated way. In addition to
fixing problems, these new advances allow more efficient control
sequences to be applied with far less effort and cost than would
be required if they were implemented exclusively within the
building automation system (BAS).

CopperTree has implemented these solutions in their Kaizen
FDD platform, and successfully demonstrated them with clients
representing the owner-occupied office, real estate investment
trust, and higher education sectors.
